Eight Reasons I Love Mary Amos (Tori’s Mom)
(Besides the fact that she spawned the brilliant woman whom I’ve worshiped for nigh 11 years now.)
1. The slowness of her voice transports me back in time…curled up in my warm bed in my Care Bears PJ’s with a storybook and a cup of steaming mug of hot cocoa. Mmmmm….
2. Watch the scene from Welcome to Sunny Florida when she forgets her water. Do it. Now. I’ll wait…
3. She probably makes a good chocolate chip cookies. I can just tell.
4. She still comes to her daughter’s shows, even though she’s played over a thousand of ‘em.
5. The Ribbons Undone story from the Beekeeper DVD. Enough said.
6. She was able to love a man for who he was despite the fact that she may have disagreed with his beliefs from time to time.
7. She gave Tori that world-class, shit-eating grin we all know and love…and those twinkling blue eyes.
8. Because I have a thing for elderly Southern ladies. Yes, even ones who aren’t alcoholics.
