Clyde Captivates Milwaukee: Tori Amos Concert Review
Clyde sauntered in to Milwaukee’s Riverside Theater tonight (11-3-07) in her usual style, draped in a veil, bowing to the audience. This blogger is happy for Milwaukeeians…Clyde came to my hometown of Louisville, Ky and she obviously gave you guys an equally rockin’, but contemplative show.
Ms. Clitoridides opened with the Bouncing off Clouds and followed the new release with an oldie but goodie, Little Earthquakes (this does sound quite a bit like the Louisville show!). Clyde must have a thang for Juarez and she also busted out with Roosterspur Bridge and Upside Down (avec le band).
After Clyde’s 6-song gig and the manic Professional Widow mix, Tori skipped onstage to delight her Wisconsin audience with Big Wheel, Siren (so jealous), Horses (even more jealous), and, big duh, Cornflake Girl. Tori played Winter during T & Bo, which was a substitute for Toast (big bummer, man). See the full Milwaukee set list below.
Highlights of this show included a pretty intense, painful looking Michael-Jackson-eat-your-heart-out crotch grab and debut of Strange. Or, I guess I should say, an attempt at Strange as Tori reportedly “f**ked it up,” lapsed into an uproarious “I f**ked it up” improv, and decided to play Carbon instead. Apparently, Strange was not missed too much, as the audience enjoyed seeing Tori slightly embarrassed and demonstrating her superior comedic improv skills.
And here I was about to do a Nah-nah-nenah-nah that you all didn’t get Take Me With You…but you all got a f**k up improv. Grrrr…
