Santa’s Atlanta: Tori Amos Concert Review

Santa Opened in AtlantaI wonder if the obvious rhyme was the deciding factor in bringing Santa out to play last night (11/14/07) at Atlanta’s Fox Theater. Nah, Tori’s much deeper than that :)

Santa has obviously taken a liking to Raspberry Swirl, as she’s played it just about if not every night since its premier. She also delighted Atlantians with Carnival…one of Tori’s more rare (and delectable) b-sides. Hoochie Woman and She’s Your Cocaine brought down the house. See Santa’s full setlist below.

Tori’s setlist is also included below. And may I draw your eyes to the fact that she played both Beulah Land AND Smells Like Teen Spirit during T & Bo? This has to be one of my favorite T & Bo’s to date, and…alas, no Leg and Boot. Oldies but goodies in the set included Sugar and Precious Things, whereas ADP was represented by Digital Ghost, Bouncing off Clouds, Big Wheel, and Code Red.

Ears with Feet privileged enough to see Tori perform Spirit and Beulah refer to the set with phrases like, “full of energy, her voice was amazing tonight, Tori seemed to really jive with the Atlanta audience, and simply sexy, fun, and enthusiastic.” We’ve come to expect nothing less from an American Doll Posse show.

And, it appears as though the Fox Theater’s security was privy to Tori’s “leave my people alone” rant during the Charlotte show and allowed Atlanta fans to rush the stage during the encores. Hopefully this is the norm now, and these people come to realize that TORI is the boss at these shows!!!
